Common Questions

What Is Your Design Process?

No rigid bootcamp frameworks or textbook Google processes here. I start by understanding the problem before exploring solutions. Once there's a clear direction, I draft UX flows and present them to the team and stakeholders to align on ideas early. Feedback shapes the design before it's refined for development, as iteration is fastest where revision is cheapest. The goal is to learn quickly, reduce risk, and deliver with confidence.

How Do You Collaborate With Stakeholders, Product Owners, and Engineers?

I put business goals before design. I align with stakeholders and the product owner upfront on what a win looks like, then involve engineers early so technical constraints become design inputs instead of last-minute surprises. Throughout the project, I keep communication simple with clear documentation, shared decision-making, and close collaboration straight through to launch.

How Do You Capture and Document Requirements?

I start by mapping out user needs, business goals, and technical constraints. From there, I translate those requirements into clear user flows and interface designs. I make sure to document all core UI states, including empty, loading, error, and success, along with potential edge cases so nothing breaks in production. Finally, I run a peer review with product and engineering to stress-test the designs before dev begins. This guarantees we share the same understanding and engineering builds with zero guesswork.

How Do You Handle Conflicting Stakeholder Priorities?

When priorities clash, I shift the conversation from opinion to objective facts. I map user needs, business goals, and technical difficulty on a value vs. effort matrix. Making these trade-offs visible builds quick alignment across the team so we focus on what delivers the highest impact first.

How Do You Maintain Design Quality Across a Team?

Consistency comes from shared standards and regular critique. Quality isn't all about a person; it's a design system that keeps the whole team aligned. Before anything goes to release, we check every design against real scenarios and edge cases to make sure the final experience actually meets our quality bar.

How Do You Lead and Delegate Within a Design Team?

I match work to each designer's strengths while creating opportunities for growth. Everyone has clear ownership, defined expectations, and the support they need to make decisions and deliver high-quality work.

What Measurable Change Have You Driven?

I drove the adoption of a shared design system alongside clear documentation standards. This delivered a measurable change by cutting rework, improving team communication, and making dev handoffs faster and more predictable. Most importantly, I focus on creating a strong backbone that outlasts my time at the company and continues to scale in the market long after I leave.
